Smoky BBQ Ribs

Perfect Grilled Steak (High Heat)

Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 10 mins | Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • ribeye or NY strip steaks (1.5″ thick)

  • 2 tbsp coarse salt

  • 1 tbsp black pepper

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • garlic cloves (crushed)

  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary/thyme

Method:

  1. Prep steak: Pat dry, coat with oil, then press salt + pepper into all sides.

  2. Grill: Heat grill to 500°F (260°C). Sear steaks 3-4 mins per side for medium-rare (adjust for doneness).

  3. Baste: In last 2 mins, add butter, garlic, and herbs to the grill. Spoon melted butter over steaks.

  4. Rest: Transfer to a plate, tent with foil, and rest 5-10 mins before slicing.


🍽 Serve With:

  • BBQ: Cornbread, coleslaw, baked beans

  • Steak: Garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus

  • Drinks: Ice-cold beer, bourbon, or red wine

Pro Tip: For reverse-seared steak, bake at 275°F (135°C) until 115°F (46°C) internally, THEN sear on grill for crust.
