Perfect Grilled Steak (High Heat)

Ingredients:

2 ribeye or NY strip steaks (1.5″ thick)

2 tbsp coarse salt

1 tbsp black pepper

2 tbsp vegetable oil

3 tbsp butter
-
2 garlic cloves (crushed)

2 sprigs fresh rosemary/thyme
Method:

Prep steak: Pat dry, coat with oil, then press salt + pepper into all sides.

Grill: Heat grill to 500°F (260°C). Sear steaks 3-4 mins per side for medium-rare (adjust for doneness).

Baste: In last 2 mins, add butter, garlic, and herbs to the grill. Spoon melted butter over steaks.

Rest: Transfer to a plate, tent with foil, and rest 5-10 mins before slicing.

Pro Tip: For reverse-seared steak, bake at 275°F (135°C) until 115°F (46°C) internally, THEN sear on grill for crust.
